Privacy Policy – Ms. Viddy Math

Effective date: 05/20/2026

Welcome!

We teach math to kids aged 8–14 with live online classes and self-paced lessons. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and share it, and the choices parents and guardians have. We use plain language to make this easy to understand.

Who this applies to

This policy applies to parents/guardians and children who use our website, apps, live classes, and other services.

Information we collect

  • Account info: child’s name, birthdate (to confirm age), parent/guardian name, email, phone number, and password.
  • Contact & billing: parent billing address, payment card details (handled securely by our payment processor), invoices.
  • Class data: attendance, class schedules, assignments.
  • Communications: messages between teachers/parents and support requests.
  • Audio/video and chat: live class audio/video and chat logs may be recorded.
  • Device & usage: IP address, device type, browser, cookies, and usage analytics to help improve our service.
  • Optional extras: photos, profile pictures, or other information you choose to share.

Why we collect it

  • To provide classes and learning materials.
  • To manage accounts, billing, scheduling, and class access.
  • To monitor progress and personalize learning.
  • To communicate with parents and students about classes, updates, and safety.
  • To improve our site and services and prevent abuse.
  • To meet legal and safety obligations.

Parental consent and accounts

Children under 13 (or the local legal age) must have a parent or guardian create and manage their account. Parents must give consent for their child to use our services and for any recordings. Parents control their child’s account and can review or delete information (see Rights below).

Recordings and class content

  • Live classes: We record live sessions by default. Recorded classes are used for review, teacher training, or to provide make-up lessons to absent students.
  • Student submissions: Homework, uploaded files, and chat messages are stored so teachers can grade and give feedback.
  • Access: Only authorized staff, teachers, and the child’s parent can access recordings and submissions.

Sharing and third parties

We share personal information only as needed:

  • Service providers: payment processors, video platforms, cloud storage, analytics — they act under contract and follow our instructions.
  • Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect kids’ safety.
  • Business transfers: if we sell or merge the business, data may be transferred — we’ll notify parents.
We do not sell children’s personal information to advertisers.

How we protect data

We use industry-standard security measures (encryption in transit, access controls, secure servers). We train staff on privacy and limit access to only those who need it. While we work to protect data, no system is perfect — we will notify affected parents if a serious breach occurs.

Data retention

We keep account and class records as long as needed to provide services, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Parents can request deletion (subject to limited legal or operational exceptions — see Rights below).

Your rights (parents/guardians)

  • Access: Ask for a copy of your child’s personal information.
  • Correction: Request updates or corrections.
  • Deletion: Ask us to delete your child’s data (we may retain limited records for legal reasons).
  • Consent withdrawal: Withdraw consent for recordings or account participation — withdrawing may limit access to some services.
  • To exercise these rights, contact us (see Contact below). We’ll verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and analytics to make the site work and to understand how people use our services. Parents can manage cookie settings through their browser; essential cookies are required for core features.

Payments and billing

We use a trusted third-party payment processor to handle payments. We do not store full payment card data on our servers. Refunds, cancellations, and billing details follow our Terms & Conditions (linked).

International transfers

If data is stored or processed outside your country, we take steps to protect it consistent with applicable law (standard contracts or other safeguards).

Safety and teacher screening

Teachers receive annual background checks. Teachers are instructed on appropriate contact and privacy rules.

Children’s safety & reporting

We have policies and procedures to handle reports of abuse, inappropriate behavior, or emergencies and will report to authorities when required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We’ll post the new policy with an updated effective date and notify account email addresses for major changes.
